Events from the past held by the college of st aldhelm.
From 28-30 November 2014 the Barony of Politarchopolis will host one of Lochac’s premier fighting events Fields of Gold at the Bungendore Showground in Bungendore, NSW.
Evoking the grandeur of the mighty Dukes of Burgundy, join us as we welcome their Majesties Niall & Liadan to Politarchopolis’ Fields of Gold.
This full weekend of tournaments will include heavy armoured, rapier, equestrian and archery skill at arms. Show your prowess in as many disciplines as you can for the chance to win the title of Champion d’Or.
Apart from the spectacle of the tournament there will also be a chance for the magnificent artisans of the kingdom to showcase their fine works with a competition simply themed Gold and to expand their skills with classes running throughout the weekend.
There will also be training in several of the martial arts including armoured combat & equestrian skill-at-arms.
On Saturday night the Feast of the Golden Gryphon will be open to 100 people. The Bold Gryphon Tavern will be open for the whole weekend and on Saturday night will serve those that either miss out on, or would rather eat at the Tavern than partake of, the delights of the Feast.
On Sunday we have the pleasure of hosting the main event of the Great Southern Jousting Series.
The event is fully catered from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch and to cap it all on Saturday night a feast to snare all the senses.

The College of St Aldhelm invites all members and friends of the College to join us in celebrating the feast day of our patron saint on 25th May. We are hosting a small potluck picnic on ANU campus in the ‘International Sculpture Park’ near the Australian National Museum on the corner of Lennox Crossing and Lawson Cres.
Please join us at 12PM for lunch followed by games, singing and other entertainments the event is planned to run until 4 PM
This is an outdoor picnic with no kitchen facilities so please remember to bring suitable serving dishes and implements and be aware that if you arrive late you may find hot food has gotten cold.
If you don’t have access to a kitchen (or can’t cook for another reason), don’t despair there are many options available ready made from the supermarket. See this article written last year for a uni student living on campus:
This is an outdoor area so unfortunately we don’t have a wet weather backup plan if the day turns out to be thoroughly wet and miserable the event will be cancelled if it needs to be cancelled the announcement will be made on email lists and Facebook on the morning of the event.
